In 2008, AVA Gallery and Art Center offered Upper Valley community members a linoleum cut printmaking class led by artist Joshua Yunger. The session partnered AVA with the Lebanon Co-op, the Upper Valley Food Co-op, and the Lebanon Village Market, each of which donated 100+ brown paper grocery bags, an inviting surface on which the artists could work. At the conclusion of the class, the decorated bags were returned to the local markets, where they were given freely to customers with their weekly purchase of food.

This project is featured in much greater detail on the New England Foundation for the Arts blog.
